Leadership Advancement Through Rest
By Paul Higginbotham ·
I want to share another example from one of my mentors before I get more into rest and how important it is. My mentor, I will call him John, had several different divisions in his organization. One of the divisions, which was under his direct purview, was doing poorly. The other divisions were doing great and having banner years, but the one John was managing was not having a good year. He was dreading the upcoming Board meeting, because he was frankly embarrassed at how his division had functioned. The night before the Board meeting, he realized all he had been doing was worrying about this division instead of taking a step back, resting and getting wisdom on the next steps. Once he did that, it started to turn around. There is advancement in rest.
